“Salinera Guerrero Negro – Exploring Baja”
In this episode we explore ” (Salt Exporters) a epic salt mine established around the Ojo de Liebre coastal lagoon in Guerrero Negro. The company produces around seven million tons of salt per year.
The production of salt at Guerrero comes from solar evaporation of seawater.

We’re a long way from Mexico, but the filming of the 8th season of Mexico–One Plate at a Time continues in earnest.

For the second half of the show, Rick transforms the dishes and flavors of Mexico into recipes that make sense in a home kitchen, all in his house in Chicago which is turned into a fully-functioning studio.

To show you how it all works, we filmed the episode featuring the famous Baja fish taco, culminating in a fiesta in Rick’s backyard!

Fans of the show, here’s your chance to get a look at how that famous kitchen of Rick’s looks behind the cameras!

The kiliwa, a yuman native community with a millenarian culture, only have five speakers of their language.

After them their language and culture will only remain in books. The days goes by for them and the rest who don’t speak their language, whose main occupation is to cut and sell the yucca, a plant that maybe will disappear too.

Not so far away, only will remain the blurred memory of this native community. </3>
